We also won’t replace ours if it breaks. And we hope that that will happen before we have kids! Children are relentlessly targeted by advertisers. But you know, it’s not only TV. It’s magazines too! I’m so over magazines, they make me feel ugly, fat, inadequate, unstylish, too poor, too unsophisticated… backward almost. I don’t need to feel like that, so no more glossy magazines for me!

Haha! That was great. And sadly, so true.

I really need to cut down on my TV intake, though it’s hard to when you work in the biz.

    Hahaha! That is too funny!!

We have a DVR, so I don’t have to see commercials, but they must seep into my brain a bit (or perhaps it’s the magazines) because I am a bit OCD about having white teeth.

Great cartoon, and great reason for NOT watching TV. The cartoon missed one more thing … you deserve a break today … and the many other junk food adds that keep us in the vicious cycle. Feel bad about yourself, buy our products and or keep eating the stuff that will ensure this cycle. Thanks for sharing this.

    Haha! Too funny.

It used to be very irritating to keep reminding our (close) friends that we didn’t have a TV and thus couldn’t have possibly seen that episode or that special or whatever. Now we just smile and say, “no I missed it, what happened” and listen.

I’m now cutting out all media exposure from my life. Its less stressful thataway.
